The PMA® (Pilates Method Alliance) is the only third-party accredited certification for Pilates professionals worldwide. To achieve this professional designation, instructors must meet the eligibility requirements that include comprehensive hours of training and practice, as well as passing the exam given by the PMA®. The PMA® establishes the roles and responsibilities of a Pilates instructor and requires continuing education to maintain this credential.

Redcord® bridges the gap between performance-oriented training and rehabilitation from injury. Redcord® is more than just sling exercise therapy. Comprehensive knowledge of physical medicine and exercise science underlies this unique active training method. Several published scientific articles in reputable journals such as Spine have reported positive results.
Pilates for Buff Bones® is based on Pilates and is safe and challenging for all levels, including those with Osteoporosis. Buff for Bones® focuses on bone strength, balance and posture. Katherine Rice is the first licensed Buff Bones® instructor in North Carolina. Pilates for Buff Bones® was created by Rebekah Rotstein, a recognized expert in osteoporosis, bone health and Pilates.
Taught by Mariska Breland. After a 2002 diagnosis of MS, Mariska became a yoga and pilates devotee, then, a teacher. She later founded Fuse Pilates. As part of her comprehensive certification through Body Arts and Science, International (BASI Pilates), she completed a research project on Pilates for multiple sclerosis patients, which she expanded into an in-depth Pilates for MS Advanced Teacher Training, incorporating the latest research in neuroplasticity and neurorehabilitation into a Pilates program design for MS and other neurological conditions.
Katherine Rice, as a Post-Rehabilitative Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist (BCES), is qualified to assess and implement individualized exercises and sessions. The Pink Ribbon Program helps stretch and strengthens shoulder, chest, and back allowing the patient to improve range of motion and strength to those areas most affected by breast cancer surgery, treatment and reconstruction.
The Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) is a method to lengthen and strengthen muscle and provides effective, dynamic, facilitated stretching of major muscle groups. AIS is used by athletes of all sports to assist with achieving optimal sports performance. It is also effective for those who need muscular rehabilitation and/or have chronic pain. Katherine trained with Aaron Mattes most recently in September 2012.
