Now offering Pilates for Multiple Sclerosis, and advanced Pilates based program that focuses on symptoms, types, and exercise protocols for those with MS and other neurological disorders or injuries. Created by Mariska Breland who has been living with MS for nearly 15 years, she has combined the latest research in neuroplasticity and neurorehabilitation to Pilates based exercises to help navigate the circuitous paths neurological disorders can take to prevent unnecessary disability and improve the quality of movement and life.
This is a very powerful and safe program that can be challenging at any level, and I am very proud to be the first instructor in North Carolina to offer this program.
I am pleased to announce my accreditation as a PMA® Certified Pilates Instructor. The PMA® (Pilates Method Alliance) is the only third-party accredited certification for Pilates professionals worldwide. To acheive this professional designation instructors must meet the eligibility requirements that include comprehensive hours of training and practice, as well as passing the exam given by the PMA®. The PMA® establishes the role and responsibility of a Pilates instructor and requires continuing education to maintain this credential. This designation has only been awarded to 53 instructors in North Carolina and 2419 worldwide.
Since there is no certification legally required to teach Pilates, I feel it is extremely important to demonstrate competency through training and experience. This professional organization established by professionals around the world and strives for the highest industry standards of teaching and expertise. Pilates is very comprehensive and it is important to distinguish our work to provide the very best expertise possible so you can meet your goals while being safe at the same time.
I am very proud to be part of this select community which includes many of the great teachers I have had the good fortune to train with.

According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation 10 million people have osteoporosis and 34 million are at risk with its precursor osteopenia. Estimates suggest half of women over 50 and one in four men will break a bone due to osteoporosis. This accounts for two million broken bones which will most likely affect the hip, spine, or wrist. According to the International Osteoporosis Foundation, 60% of individuals who fracture a hip cannot walk without assistance a year later.
